Since my childhood my three passions have been reading, painting, and playing/listening to music. I have been privileged to have these continue throughout my life. Painting remains not only a passion: it has also been as solace.

My paintings are inspired by thoughts, emotions, and events that ebb and flow through my life. These find their way into becoming inhabitants of my works, and take shape as images. Whether derived from the natural or man-made world, they all gather in my invented world of paint.

Images such as a flower from my garden, a cow, a rice bowl from my kitchen, a slice of a Caravaggio painting, can all collide and transform into a visually alluring conceptual exploration.

Often through an implied, sometimes humorous or absurdist narrative, these elements are transformed in the hope of revealing new associations and meanings.
